Company History
Training for today was founded in 1986 to satisfy the demands of local hairdressers for improved, off the job, training facilities for their candidates.
Training for today, which is the trading name of Michaeljohn Training Limited started with just 20 hairdressing candidates in its first year and quickly expanded to 52 candidates in its second year.
In 1988 the company expanded its provision to include Care of the elderly and Customer Service qualifications followed by the introduction of Administration and Management qualifications.
In 2005 Training for today introduced its key stage 4 provision for school students in years 10 and 11. Growing from 30 students in its first year to almost 200 students this year.
In 2010 Training for today became one of the first work based learning providers in the local area to achieve the Training Quality Standard whilst also maintaining Matrix accreditation.
Safe n Sound & Safeguarding
Training for today works hard to meet the needs of key partners, learners and staff and endeavours to keep learners and staff safe. The company has developed a Safeguarding policy which sits within the Safe n sound framework at Training for today. This framework has been developed to bring together the key principles of Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Safeguarding within an umbrella of strategic direction and operational support.
Our Mission
Through developing practice, collaboration, research and dissemination the Safe n Sound steering group seeks to ensure that everyone in our care receives support which meets their individual needs. The Safe n Sound steering group works in partnership with the following operational teams:
